New headlights
I received my new headlights today. They are custom ordered with dual projectors and 4x CCFL lights. As it’s not street legal with red lights in the front of the car here in Sweden I will hook the “evil eyes” to a separate switch and only use the white rings as DRL’s.
Now I just need to find some really good xenon kits for both high and low beams to finish the headlight project.
Desktop Backgrounds
I have added a new page with desktop backgrounds. Currently there are only one background uploaded but more will come soon.
This first one is from last weekend, I took it up in Forsmark, Sweden just outside the nuclear power plants. Pretty cool environment.
You have the link to the desktop backgrounds on your right hand side ->
Some new stuff
A few new bits and pieces has dropped in during the last days.
A bunch of SMD LED’s, clear side turn signals, red Ralliart gear knob and red tail lights.
The plan for the interior is to update all light bulbs to SMD LED’s, still with stock color just brighter. This will create an illusion of a newer car without anybody noticing the update.
The red gear knob from Ralliart is just there because I think an Evo VI shall have a Ralliart gear knob, easy as that. It might be teenage styling, but in this case I don’t care
For the exterior, clear side turn signals goes better with the sliver/black theme, the old orange ones didn’t fit in. The new red tail lights looks really good in picture and I was really pumped to get them installed today. But of course they sent me the wrong model, I got the ones for Mirage 00-02.
I have contacted the ebay seller, we’ll see tomorrow how he decides to handle this.
I almost forgot that I bought a new trunk lid without fog lights or wing holes, this will be equipped with a m3 style lip spoiler. Not sure how it will look, only way to really find out is to try. The lip should be here within a week or so.
zEvo II – The new project!
My old project, zEvo 2.2l was a great success, way beyond anyone could have imagined when I begun. Now with all knowledge and experience from that project with me I begin the next.
Let me introduce to you – zEvo II, a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI TME.
The Evo VI TME is a bit special compared to the other evos, it was manufactured in a limited number and was a tribute to one of the greatest drivers in Rally.
Wikipedia
Yet another special edition Evolution VI was also released in 1999: the Tommi Mäkinen Edition, named after Finnish rally driver Tommi Mäkinen that had won Mitsubishi four WRC drivers championships. It featured a different front bumper, Red/Black Recaro seats (with embossed T. Mäkinen logo), 17″ Enkei white wheels, a leather Momo steering wheel and shift knob, a titanium turbine that spooled up quicker, front upper strut brace, lowered ride height (with tarmac stages in mind), and a quicker steering ratio. Amongst other colours, the Evo VI came in either red (Tommi Mak only), white, blue, black or silver with optional special decals, replicating Tommi Mäkinen’s rally car’s colour scheme. This car is also sometimes referred to as an Evolution 6½, Evolution 6.5, or TME for short.
Spot the evo…
This is the official blog the zEvo II project.
It all began back in 2004 when the first project started (zEvo 2.2l). That car was an all out track car with a astonishing show finish down to the last little detail. The zEvo 2.2l was featured in magazines all over the World, it even made it to US Modified Magazine as the first Swedish car featured in that magazine.
Now it’s time for the next project, zEvo II. It’s based on an Evo VI TME, an icon from Mitsubishi’s top days in rallying manufactured in a limited edition. This project’s goal is to refine this 10 year old car and make it into what it should have been if it was released today. It will be a 100% legal street car.
